Adam's Comeback
Adam loved playing football, but his knee pain was holding him back. Every game seemed to make it worse, and he started to worry that his passion might become a thing of the past.
The Problem:
Adam had tried to push through the pain, thinking it was just part of the game. But eventually, the pain became too much to ignore.
Why Adam Was Stuck:
- Overuse and Lack of Recovery: Football's high-impact nature meant Adam's knees were taking a beating without adequate recovery.
- Insufficient Stability Work: His training didn't include the lateral stability necessary for quick direction changes on the field.
- Neglecting Strength in Key Areas: He wasn't doing the heavy-duty work his glutes and quads needed to protect his knees.
The Solution:
We focused on building Adam back up:
- Recovery and Mobility: We prioritized recovery sessions and mobility work to ease inflammation and restore range of motion.
- Heavy Lateral Strength Training: Cossack squats and heavy glute work became staples in his routine, ensuring he could handle the lateral demands of football.
- Strength and Stability Integration: Along with traditional strength work, we added exercises like sled pushes to build functional power and stability.
The Results:
Within a few months, Adam was back on the field, feeling stronger and more agile. His knee pain was a thing of the past, and he played with newfound confidence.
